Short Update

Hey everyone, just giving the short update I promised in the side-bar.

I was actually hoping that I could release the sketch demo before end of the year, but after running a few tests on the first couple scenes that I finished I found way too many bugs and little mistakes that still needed change before I can actually release anything.

And I'm not even done with all of them yet...

And since I don't have that much time to work on it at the moment I will most probably not be able to get it out before end of the year..

Seeing your feedback however I feel like taking my time to work everything out seems to be the better option anyways and I won't have to worry as much about it.

Most people probably aren't even interested in the sketch demo anyway since it will mostly consist of text.


Instead I'm hoping to at least get some random artwork out and maybe even make a H animation out of it.

(Update: 14.12.18 Not much time to give info right now since I have to get up in the morning, but wanted to at least show the progress.
Picture is about done, with lots of different variations of it as well.
With and without breasts, male/female, "censored" one without gender and so on..
Even with shiny version of all of them.

Not quite satisfied with them, but probably not able to do it better at the moment either.
Gonna upload it on a few sites and think about adding a few patreon ranks to upload the projects files for it as a reward as well. Not sure about it though..
For now I'll just leave you with this :>)

I drew multiple version of it. A male, female and a anthropomorphic (the sketch) one.
If I'm going to properly colorate it I'm going to upload all of them on patreon, but I'll let you know when I actually do.


The longer I'm working on the game the more I realize that I need some help if I want to finish it at some point, so I'm still thinking of how to actually take some.
If you have some ideas of how I should handle things let me know.

  2. Hey how are you?, well, first, how I ever say you are doong a greaaat job 7u7, perhaps, you known that you can take all the time you need to give a great VN, and you known what? I think that lucario is very beutiful :3, Well, how I seen the things it gonna to be a great job the one you are doing, this only means that I reaally gonna to love the final version of dream molder ;)

  3. Thanks for keeping us updated. Nice Lucario as well :)

    As far as getting help is concerned I’m no artist but I’m happy to help proof read if it helps. Perhaps it may help to post a few images to sites like FA and e621, with links to here and your Patreon, that could attract the attention of people with the skills to help. Last time you posted some H scenes from dream moulder they seemed to get a lot of attention.

  4. When you say help. Do you mean actual assistance in drawing/coloring and programming? I think the best help you’ll get here is with proof reading and some advice. And you already do I good enough job with writing. Even when there is some kind of typo it’s easy to understand what you meant to say. But I agree with sparky here, if you need another hand then the best bet is to somehow advertise for it. With a simple post on some art platforms. Maybe characters like the maid you could just have one picture for instead of multiple for expressions. The games story revolves around only 3 characters as far as I know not sure about rich girl that your supposed to marry. But definitely focus on those three. Giving the same amount of expressions on minor characters like the mom, maid, hair dresser etc doesn’t seem reasonable. That would just be far to much work for an already stressfully large project. There’s is also the option of cutting some content as a last resort if it becomes too much work.

    Once that sketch demo comes out we’ll have a better idea of what you want your game to be. Then we can give you some better advice or options.

    I’m gonna push what I said about reusing the first H-scene again. The only reason I see to make an entirely new one for the Ferris wheel scene is just to match your current art style. Time would be better spent I feel working on other parts of the game instead. Then again you may be already be planning to do all this. But I don’t know.

    And another controversial thing I’ve been thinking about. I know no one wants to hear it because it feels rude to even suggest. but basically everyone following the project were brought in by the braixen story. That’s what everyone’s main interest was originally. It is called. “The Braixen visual novel.” So, my suggestion is what if you cut the game into chapters then finish them one at a time starting with fia? Then add the branching chapters afterwards. That way you could focus on Finishing a playable part of the game with finished artwork and an ending. Which would at least fulfill the Promise to patrons sooner. Then between that and the would be next chapter you can take a break and decide what to do next. Focus on life stuff. Or think of other projects you could do. Maybe you decide you want to save the ideas you had for the rest of the game for other projects and call the visual novel done. I’m not saying no one cares about the other 2 characters. But they are being presented as side choices so people aren’t going to focus on them. But definitely appreciated that you want to add so much choice. You are ambitious as hell. That is to be praised. But every update you make tells me that you are really struggling. And that we may have to start considering that finish the game all at once may have been too ambitious. That’s how I feel anyway.

    1. I kind of agree here. It may be best to get the main Braixen story path finished and released (all art, H scenes etc.) then add the other choices and their respective paths one by one after. That could help prevent you from getting burnt out having to do so many sketches and things one after the other. It would also help attract more attention to the game if you were to get something out there sooner then periodically add extra choices to the game. I do kind of agree that whilst I am quite interested in how the other paths play out my main interest is in the Braixen one as well. Although the one you teased with Delphox seems interesting.

      So it’s up to you I guess but an episodic release could help with both generating interest in the game and preventing you from getting burnt out so quickly. Either way, keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing more from you.

  5. That’s also a fantastic point. Getting a finished story out there say on e621 or FA. People will play it and see the other characters along with braixen. And then you note that that more is planned that involve those other characters would REALLY bring a lot of attention to your patreon and blog. They wouldn’t even be expecting those characters. Then those characters would then be treated more like a special bonus than a side choice. people would be eager for a continuation of some kind in the form of alternate endings and such. Especially after the length of fia’s story. I think I spent about 4 hours straight reading the sample from a few months ago and wasn’t even able to finish because of a bug. People expecting some quick nsfw braixen pics would be stunned at the length of the game and story. And then they find out “wait THERES GOING TO BE MORE!?” That would create some serious hype and attention. And may even double as advertising for help in later chapters or even projects. Please consider it. It may not be satisfying to only complete part of the game after promising so much. But Fia’s story alone already far exceeds expectations and can easily be called a full game. We can even choose her color and hair for god sakes! You spoiled us rotten as is.

    Anyway, Sorry, I pretty much only ever suggest cutting features to save time and effort. But between me and sparky this is more in consideration of everything. I feel it would be helpful in the sense of drawing in more support to potentially do even more in future projects. And the pace of chapters would be less stressful and easier to plan and manage I feel. I don’t lie when i say this is a colossal project. Exceeding works I’ve seen called professional. There is no shame in admitting the full game was to much to do all at once.

    Hopefully I made sense. I’m very tired and it’s very late. Like 5am. So forgive me if I said weird stuff.

  6. Sorry, funky again. I really haven’t been able to get the chapters idea out of my mind since I mentioned it. I feel like I can do better with this idea. I’m usually the only one recommending cutting content to make time and things a bit easier for you. But this idea isn’t cutting anything.

    we could think of the branching stories more like separate games entirely. Let’s say that you finish just Fia’s story which I can assume is the bigger of the 3 branching paths. Take a break after release. After a comfortable amount of time passes. You start on one of the other alternative routes. Having it Start at the decision that would cause the branching path from fias story. And complete it from that point on skipping the beginning of fias story that we’ve already seen. Releasing the alternative path on its own as if it were another game. Take a break. Start the next path in the same way. BUT THEN. Once you’ve finished the final branching path and released it. You could then merge them into fias story creating a final version of the game including all Choices leading to the other 2 paths. This way you wouldn’t waste assets you’ve already made. You’ll passively gain attention and support as you work on the other parts. Meaning all your have to do is post the different parts and people will naturally do the rest of advertising for you, spreading the games parts around. People will get to see content sooner. The project would only take slightly longer to totally complete. And best of all in the end! It won’t sacrifice anything that YOU want In the game. The choices and decisions you’ve scripted will be exactly where you wanted them to be when it’s all put together. Like completing a puzzle by putting it together in 3rds. Once the three pieces are finished, they would naturally fit together. all you need to do is connect the 3 complete pieces of the puzzle with little effort. Then BAM! the project is done! And we celebrate!(somehow)

    I do really feel like narrowing your focus down to one branching path at a time would be a lot less stressful for you. So at least seriously consider that part of the idea. I really wanna help you out dude. But Ideas is all I’ve got.

    If anyone else wants to weigh in on what they think of the idea and list any other benefits or flaws. Please do. I’m open to someone outright saying if it’s a stupid idea or not.

    Anyway, I consider that the much more thought out version of the idea I posted early this week. I hope you gleam something helpful from it.

    1. Thanks for all the feedback guys.
      Taking one path at the time does sound like it would be the best choice then.

      I did want to colorate one path at the time anyway, but releasing it in "episodes" would probably make it easier to promote.

      I'm still going to release the sketch demo with all the paths though since that would give me some opinions on how well the different paths are written and change them in case something isn't as good.
      People could also vote on which path will be worked on next.

      For now I'll have to worry about the sketch demo anyway and we'll see how everything is going to happen when the time comes.

  7. Just saw your completed Lucario on FA and e621. Looking really nice! Makes me look forward to seeing a bit more of Fia. Keep up the good work :)
